Studio Policies and Registration

Studio Policies and Registration 2026

1. Lesson Commitment

Your weekly lesson time is reserved specifically for you. Tuition covers all scheduled lessons, regardless of attendance.

2. Lesson Content

Some lessons may focus on technique, musicianship, diction, breath work, or movement rather than full repertoire singing. These are intentional and essential parts of vocal development.

3. Lesson Safety (In-Person, In-Home, and Online)

To maintain a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment, the following policies apply to all lesson formats:

General Safety

  • Arrive at your scheduled time; wait quietly if another lesson is still in progress.

  • The studio is fragrance-free to support vocal health—avoid strong perfumes or scented products.

  • Bring water and all required lesson materials.

Illness

  • If you or your child are sick—fever, heavy congestion, cough, stomach illness, or anything contagious—do not attend in person.

  • Virtual lessons are always available for illness, weather, or mild schedule conflicts.

  • Students who arrive visibly ill will be sent home.

In-Home Lessons

  • A parent/guardian must be present in the home unless prior arrangements are made.

  • Pets should be secured unless otherwise agreed upon.

  • For minors, a parent/guardian should check in at the start and end of the lesson.

Online Lessons

  • Online lessons are conducted through secure, private links.

  • Students should join from a quiet, appropriate, public-facing area of the home.

  • A parent/guardian must be home and aware for minors during virtual lessons.

  • Students may record their own virtual lessons for personal practice.

  • Sharing, posting, or distributing recordings, screenshots, or video clips is not permitted.

4. Student Responsibilities

  • Daily practice: to see growth you must practice- even a little everyday makes a difference!

  • Record each lesson for practice reference.

  • Arrive prepared with assigned repertoire, printed/digital sheet music, and a notebook.

  • Communicate vocal health concerns (illness, allergies, asthma, TMJ issues, vocal strain etc…).

  • Cover any music/material purchases, which will be invoiced as needed.

5. Scheduling, Cancellations & Make-Ups

Arrival & Timing

  • Lessons begin and end on schedule.

  • Late arrivals do not receive additional time unless the instructor’s schedule allows.

  • If the instructor is delayed, extra time or a make-up will be provided.

Self-Rescheduling Procedure

  • If you know more than 24 hours in advance that you cannot attend a lesson, you may self-reschedule using the link in your confirmation email.

  • This option is not available inside the 24-hour window.

  • Same-day cancellations are eligible for your 1 makeup and will be moved to makeup week at your regular lesson time.

Make-Up Policy

  • Only absences with at least 24-hour notice are eligible for a make-up.

  • Once a make-up is scheduled, it cannot be moved.

  • Missed or canceled lessons are not refunded.

Ending Lessons

  • A 30-day written notice is required to discontinue lessons.

  • Tuition remains due during the notice period.
